A little history
Hammam soap have been used since ancient times. It is known that olive soap is one of the first varieties of soaps in soap crafting history. Olive oil began to be used for cosmetic purposes in ancient Egypt. In those days, when the soap had not been invented yet, the ancient Egyptians was smearing with olive oil onto the skin. According to one of the legends in Mesopotamia women were adding ash into olive oil, and thus producing the first olive oil soap. Traditionally, olive oil soap is made only from olive oil without any additives or other essential oils. From ancient times to the present day, the olive oil is very popular in soap making.

A little tip
Despite all the advantages of olive soap, it provides less lather than the soaps with coconut or castor oil. If you want to get a rich lather from pire olive oil soap, use a bast wisp. The bast wisps from mesh material make the best fit.
